Rainy Day/New Car
So on this rainy Saturday, our family traveled to Schaumburg, IL to look at a Honda Pilot. We test drove it, and liked it a lot. Chris has been researching our vehicle situation for weeks - every night on-line looking through car after car after car. After our Civic was declared totaled, we had some tough decisions to make. Our van was in need of being replaced, in addition to Chris needing a commuter car for work. As you saw in my last post, we purchased a Saturn yesterday, and then we did go ahead and buy the Pilot today. We are very excited! It is such a relief to have our vehicle situation squared away finally. Lord willing, we will not have to make any major vehicle decisions for a LONG time!
After our Carmax experience was complete, we checked out the new Lego store at Woodfield Mall, where Steven and Ryan were each able to purchase a Lego set. Our next stop was IKEA, where we had lunch, and then browsed the store before we headed home. It's been a busy few days.
I snapped this picture before we went into Carmax. We traded in our van as part of the
vehicle purchase.
Ryan and Andrew enjoyed the special play area that Carmax has set up for kids 10 and under. Since Steven just turned 11 in June, he had to stay out. He came on the test drive with us, hung out while we got all the paperwork together, and occasionally checked on his brothers for us.

Congratulations! I think car shopping is one of the more challenging of the necessities of life!

Beautiful! YAY!
Whoo! Two new/old cars - you guys are totally going to be rockin' the parking lot at church. I'm so glad you were able to get a good deal and take care of the transpo!
P.S. - We are thinking of switching to bikes...can we chain our bikes to your car at church? :-)

I am glad someone is balking public opinion and buying an SUV.
Nice wheels. :-)

that is a sweet car (i heart hondas and am especially partial to the "pilot" because of its word-association with aviation, which i also like--i know, i'm weird).
